III International Biennial of Istanbul
Istanbul, Turkey, 1992
Wall Painting

Haliç – Golden Horn, is a large-scale mural of a Rhinoceros. It was conceived for the occasion of von Berners participation at the III International Biennial of Istanbul. The work plays on the word relation of Istanbul’s historic inlet of the Bosporus (Turkish: Haliç, English: Golden Horn), and the horn of the rhinoceros, the main reason for its extinction.
