VERBANIA AND ECOLOGY

The Italian city Verbania, is exemplary for its commitment to environmental concerns. It has one of the lowest rates, of fine particles suspended in air (PM10) and it is Italian leader in differentiaded waste collection, reaching a maximum of 72,8%. Furthermore the levels of CO2 emissions per passenger in public transport, are at a minimum compared to international standards.

CLOUD FLAGS

We would like to propose a new kind of flag for Verbania, a flag that reflects their exemplary relationship with the environment, a flag that we all would like to have.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSAL

The cloud flags, consist of a metal flagpole, measuring approximately  8 metres. At the top third of the pole, the micropulverised water is expulsed into the air, and with the help of ventilators the shape of a flag (approx. 3m x 6m) is achieved.

Throughout the flagpole and at its top, LED lights are installed, which tinge the pole and the flag in a white-blueish light.

In the complete installation energy efficency can be obtained  by employing an intelligent energy consumption.

Many of the worlds energy sources are finite, hence we take great care in utilizing them in the most thorough way possible.

The use of micro-nozzles ensures a minimized water consumption. Furthermore the  Dicrolaser lighting, made of three power-LEDs and an optical concentrator, is a natural substitute of the conventional Halogen light.
