For Darya von Berner, sculpture is above all other considerations, a way of showing, that the objects that populate the world, carry a high component of mental constructions and therefore are likely to be reinterpreted.

In 1997 she shows her first sculpture in the gallery Triebold in Basel. For the occasion of “Domestico” (2000), she creates an intervention for the entrance door of the exhibition space. This work can be understood as a turning point in her career.

At the stand of Gallery Raab Berlin (ARCO 2001) she exhibits several sculptures that testify to this change: “Mesa Franca“, “Dónde están nuestras camas”, and so on.
